Planting Instructions for the Xandue

Select a shady or partially shady area to grow Xanadu philodendron, as the plant doesn't tolerate full sunlight or drought.

Soak the roots of new seedlings in a seaweed solution for about two hours before planting.

Plant Xanadu philodendron at any time of the year in USDA zones 10 and 11, or spring or early summer seasons in zones 8 and 9. Cover each seedling's root ball completely and leave 36 to 60 inches of space between the plants. Xanadu philodendron prefers acidic or slightly alkaline soil of sandy, loamy or clay types.

Water in new plants by saturating the loose soil. After the initial watering, keep the soil of the Xanadu philodendron moist but not waterlogged at all times. Test the soil near the root with your finger – after watering, it should be moist down to about 2 inches, or to your second knuckle. When the top 2 inches of soil dries out, it's time to water the plant again.
About The Xandue

The large, broad leaves of the Xanadu philodendron plant, a member of the Araceae family, add a distinctly tropical flavor to the landscape, complementing bungalows, ranches, craftsmen and modern homes. This drooping plant thrives in U.S. Department of Agriculture hardiness zones 8 through 11 and requires little maintenance, making it well-suited for novice and veteran gardeners alike. With proper care, the fast-growing Xanadu philodendron reaches heights of 2 to 4 feet with a spread of 4 to 6 feet.
